Stopped in on Wednesday for happy hour after a friend recommended it. What my friend did not advise was that reservations were an extremely good idea. Even for HH. That being said, the staff bent over backwards to try to get a table for me and was successful shortly after I arrived. The place is definitely a scene, it was lively, vibrant, and all the while the staff remained calm and professional. Matt at the bar made the best cosmopolitan I have imbibed in many years and Drew, who took care of us, was extraordinarily professional, witty and made us feel very welcome and want to return. I watched him as he worked the room and it was very reassuring to know that there are still servers who truly care about their guests. Five stars all the way and a shout out to Drew and Matt for amazing service.

Beautiful restaurant. Went for the NYE dinner with my husband and another couple. The meal was really good. The options were nice. We had bacon and crab cakes. The chocolate felt like a reach on the bacon (didn’t really enhance but didn’t take away) and I would’ve loved my crab cake a tad crisper on the outside but delicious either way. The clam chowder was pretty good. Everyone got a steak and the whole table was pleased. The desserts were ok. The wine pairing with the dinner was spectacular and as promised the old fashioned was good. Service was absolutely lovely. Thank you Luis. Definitely want to return when I’m back in the city

Exceptional from Start to Finish: A Memorable Meal at Prime Provisions, Chicago Exceptional. That one word perfectly captures our recent dining experience at Prime Provisions in downtown Chicago. From the moment we walked in, we were met with genuine hospitality. Though we didn’t have a reservation, the staff kindly found us two seats at the stunning bar. To our surprise and gratitude, previously seated guests even shifted to make room for us — a small gesture that set the tone for the evening. After a long road trip, we arrived around 8:30 p.m. and decided to share our dinner. The food was outstanding, and the drinks elevated the entire experience. My cocktail, the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, was a first for me. It was built on Creyente mezcal and balanced with demerara, mole bitters, and orange bitters. The mezcal imparted a smokiness, while the demerara added toasty sweetness. It was complex, smoky, and refined. My wife began with a glass of France's 2021 Bordeaux Chateau Tour Bayard. Bold and dry, it had moderate tannins and acidity, creating a smooth structure that paired beautifully with our meal. I chose a glass of white wine for our entree Dover Sole. The ‘22 Chardonnay Domaine Seguinot Bordet Chablis,Burgundy France. It was very light, dry, smooth, and clean without any sweetness. The Dover Sole entree came with crispy confit potatoes, french green beans, and champagne caviar buerre blanc. The presentation and delivery of this dish by the chef was an entertaining lovely experience. The four filets were delivered on a platter to our place at the bar. The chef place the platter on a cart and carefully deboned the filets with a spoon. The Dover Sole was light, fresh, and rich with the caviar buerre blanc which paired very nicely with the light seasoning on each filet. The potatoes & green beans were prepared to perfection. For dessert we ordered Banana Cream Pie. The filling of the pie was light and luscious. The crust was a bit heavy. I would have enjoyed a lighter flaky crust. Prime Provisions is not just a steakhouse—it’s an experience. Even without a table reservation, we were treated like welcome guests. Review edited with assistance from Chat GPT 4o

Phenomenal food, service, and ambience. Kyle our server was excellent, very attentive. His suggestions were spot on. Perfect timing of drinks and courses. The restaurant is beautiful and very classy. Now about the food. It was definitely an experience like no other. Everything we tried was delicious from drinks, apps, entrees and sides. We started with builders old fashion (excellent) had oysters, crab Cesar salad, Kansas City strip steak, petite filet, lobster, mushrooms. And they even surprised us with a decadent piece of chocolate cake for our anniversary.

Tried restaurant week 3 course dinner menu. Service is fast and really good. We’ll get the view of river walk while dining. Definitely book your table before going. They gave us complimentary bread for the table. I like the steak and fresh onion soup most. The steak was perfectly cooked. They gave fresh seasoning with steak. You can add more from their regular menu addition to restaurant week menu. Street Parking was hard to find at this area. It’s better to book parking garage to save your time. We booked garage parking for 11 for 3 hours, 2 mins walk from the restaurant. We’ll definitely come back to try wagyu steak.

I am surprised I haven't written a review of this place yet. My family and I have been coming here for years. It's our always go to restaurant for special occasions. We especially like to come here for their holiday brunches. It's more than just bacon and eggs. They have excellent choice of prime rib, eggs Benedict, oysters, crab legs, macarons, etc. The service is always above and beyond. The staff are always friendly to greet us, especially this one welcoming hostess named Michelle that recognizes our family by now and treats us so nice. We had a very attentive waitress, Anna, during our Mother's Day brunch that met all our needs before we even asked and was quick to get anything we needed. Ambience is very classy, perfect for date night. On the occasions where we did bring our kids, they were patient and accommodating. I'm sure we'll be coming back for their Father's Day brunch next month!

The best steak we’ve had in Chicago! We brought our friends from out of town and they had a wonderful experience too. Loved everything from the seafood tower to the porterhouse to the amazing sundae cart. Definitely a splurge but we’ll be going back for special occasions in the future!

We had an outstanding Valentine’s Day dinner here last week! From start to finish, the entire experience was incredibly well thought out and made for a truly memorable evening. Our server, Luis M., did an awesome job! The presentation was what impressed us most—everything was beautifully plated, and the tableside service added such a special touch, from the cocktails to the tableside sundae cart. As for the food, every dish we tried was phenomenal. We started with the caviar potato skins, black truffle croquette, and Wagyu beef tartare—all so good. We also got the thick-cut bacon and burrata with poached pear, both of which were excellent. For our mains, we shared the center-cut 36oz porterhouse and the Suzuki Wagyu beef, and they were nothing short of exceptional. To end the night, the bar cart ice cream sundae service was such a fun and unique way to wrap up our meal. If you’re looking for a place to impress, this is definitely the spot.
